Staff:

There are eighteen Plunket Society area offices around the country plus Plunketline, a telephone helpline for parents. Each area has a number of clinics which are staffed by Registered Nurses. Some areas also have Family Centres where parents experiencing difficulties can go with young children. Some home visiting also takes place. Plunket Kaiawhina and Plunket Community Karitane are family support staff who go into homes to give additional support and information when it is needed.

Specialisms: Children; Family; Health Promotion; Information & Resources: Health.

Modalities: Nursing, Support Work.

Fees: No fees.

Appointments: Monday to Friday. Housecalls as appropriate.

Specific cultural orientation: Gender/Age: Infants and mothers.

Other: Maori and Pacific staff are available particularly in communities with large populations of Maori and/or Pacific families. First contact with a family is usually a home visit. Follow up contacts usually occur at a Plunket Clinic.
